OPEN HEAVENS WEDNESDAY 1ST JUNE,2016. TOPIC: THE LORD, MY HEALER

Memorise:
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
Read: Exodus 15:26
And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
MESSAGE:
The New Testament is full of accounts of people who were healed, just to convince us that healing is possible through Christ Jesus. There is so much virtue, glory and power in the name of Jesus. Everyone who had an encounter with that Name or with His person never remained the same, irrespective of the degree of their sicknesses. All things are possible through the name of Jesus (Mathew 19:26). Through the name of Jesus there is so much power to overcome all forms of sickness and infirmities.
"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow." Philippians 2:9-10
If only you will see that Jesus has paid the whole price for our redemption so that we might be free from all sicknesses, then you can boldly accept the fact that Jesus is the source of life. The Lord Jesus gave to us through salvation; life, health, peace and so much abundance. He Himself took all our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. He is always willing to do things to manifest His Word, and to let us know a measure of the mind of God towards us.
If you are in need of one miracle of healing or the other, or you have been afflicted with all manner of sicknesses, the Lord will show forth His perfect cleansing and healing power in your life. All you need is to have faith in Jesus. Peter and John were helpless and uneducated, but the fact remains that they had been with Jesus and they knew practically what His name was capable of doing. They told the man at the beautiful gate to stand up and walk and the man received his healing immediately. There is someone reading this devotional this morning, it doesn't matter how helpless or hopeless your medical report has indicated, the Lord will change your story in Jesus’ name. Through the name of Jesus, the incurable can be healed. Through His name, the lame will walk and the blind will see. Through His name, lepers have been miraculously cleansed. In this world of ours, where new diseases are always surfacing and doctors sometimes cannot identify them, you need to rely absolutely on the Great Physician, Jesus Christ. He is able to heal those who are broken hearted and destroy all satanic forces. Through faith in His name, deliverances become a daily occurrence.
“They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them: they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Mark 16:18
By the special grace of God, Jesus Christ had become my personal physician since I came to the knowledge of this truth. This is why every time I have the opportunity to minister to people, I just follow the instructions of my faithful physician and allow Him to glorify Himself. I don't bother myself about how the healing will take place; I just do as He commands.
One major cause of sickness is sin. If you live a life that is pleasing to God, sickness will never find a place in your body. It doesn't matter how many people are falling sick around you, the promises of God to keep His children from being affected with what affects others is kept intact. If you are allowing sin into your life, then you are sending an invitation to sicknesses because sin and sicknesses are related. Repent today and follow the path of life. When we turn back to the Lord, our nations and immediate communities become healed and free from every satanic influence.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, destroy every root of sickness in my body, soul and spirit in Jesus’ name.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Chronicles 12-13 and Ecclesiastes 1:5-11
GOOD MORNING AND HAPPY NEW MONTH.

Tears of joy as 80-year-old woman gets car gift from Bro Joshua Iginla

She could not hide her happiness as she shed tears of joy, and with a trembling voice expressed her joy and excitement. The story is short: The Senior Pastor of Champions Royal Assembly, Kubwa, Abuja, Joshua Iginla, recently made a mess of the popular saying that life begins at 40 for an 80-year-old woman, Madam Christiana Edegi, when he gave the octogenarian a brand new saloon car during his birthday.

Unlike others who were presented with various gifts, Mama's case was unique. According to what Omonaijablog gathered exclusively, Mama, who attends the church once told the man of God that, "Man of God, I'm praying for you. God will always give you more grace and enablement."

On the said day, Pastor Iginla acknowledged Mama's comment but Mama has continued with her daily supplication until recently that her persistence paid off.

Surprisingly, during the celebration, Madam Christiana was called out in church amidst admiration for this singular act. She was celebrated and a brand new saloon car was handed over to her.

She wasn't the only one who was gifted with brand new cars. Pastor Iginla also gave out 32 cars, of which 16 were SUVS, money running into several millions of naira to the aged, widows, orphanages, and scholarships to orphans from nursery school to university.

He gave six Nollywood actors – Jide Kosoko, Francis Duru, Alex Usifo, Ngozi Osondu, Thelma Nwosu and Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Babaluwe – Hummer Jeeps, Mercedes G-Wagon and Mercedes CLS 550.

Artisans got generators and cash gifts, while widows got deep freezers, rice, and cash gifts ranging from N150,000 to N1.5 million.

"Alaba marketers, CD rights only will make you broke for long" Movie producer David Newke warns

How do you feel when you spend your fortune to execute a project only to be cornered and short-changed? Well, this has been the major headache of independent movie producers in Nigeria.
They have been crying foul on the activities of the Alaba, Lagos marketers who will take a multi-million movie projects for peanuts and still sit on the little that is meant for the movie producer.
David Newke is one of those producers whose this ugly incidence has seriously affected. He opened up to Vnolly all about the gimmicks of these Alaba marketers and many more in thise exclusive interview...

Omonaija : Can we meet you?
David: My name is Nweke David.

Omonaija : What do you do?
David:  I am a Nollywood director, producer and an actor.

Omonaija : For how long have you been working as a producer?

David: I came into entertainment industry first as an a hip hop artist. I did some songs then and I also featured Solidstar of Archivers music in one of my songs which enjoyed  massive air play in many radio stations and at Alaba international market.
But I joined movie productions in the year 2011.

Omonaija : Why do you decided to come into Nollywood?

David : I left music then because I have so much love for movie but I just said let me try music first since I love entertainment generally but, my love for movie made me leave music.

Omonaija : Does that means you are in Nollywood for the business part of it. Just because you know you can make more money from it?

David: Not really but its among the reasons. I am on it because I fell in love with it when I was a child watching living in bondage and others then. All these made me love movie.

Omonaija: How would you describe the industry since you joined in 2011?

David: I will describe Nollywood as a child that is growing very fast. I joined in 2011 as a novice but I took it professionally the year 2015 from October. As a matter of fact in year 2012 I produced and directed my first movie "Reckless lives" featuring Francis Odega. Nollywood has done well and has also made many people what they are today.

Omonaija :  Within that short time, what were the challenges you have noticed as a producer?

David: My brother finance has been my greatest challenge because our Alaba marketers were not helping the matter at all.
As a matter of fact, I will say the movie marketers in Nigeria does not want the independent producers like us to grow.

Omonaija : How?

David: Because you will spend money making movies only for the marketers to price the movie below what you spent.
And if  you eventually give them the movie at that lower price they won't pay the money in cash.
Instead they will split  the money in such a way that the money won't  be useful for the producer again.

Omonaija : Have you had such experience of recent?

David : As a producer and director I have done like 17 movies and all in the market. But, the last two I did were "IBU Workshop and Papa Do Something."

As we are talking now, IBU Workshop that I produced in august last year, the marketer is still owning me money for it. We are talking of hundreds of thousand naira here.

Omonaija : Why do you produce new movies and give marketers who are owing you?

David : The funniest aspect of it is that it is not the same marketer all the time.
I have tried like three marketers and they all have the same story.

Omonaija: So,why not try and produce a cinema rated movie that won't go through marketers?

David: That will be in my plan for next year.

Omonaija : Where and how do you source for funds to produce movies when marketers were not encouraging you?

David: Its only by the grace of God.But now I think the media is helping.

Omonaija : What complain do Alaba marketers always give for not paying up?

David: They always say there is bad market.

Omonaija : What do they mean by bad market?

David: They will say the market is dull that the movie did not sell well. All of them keep saying the same thing all the time but, its all lies.

Omonaija : Since you started when would you say was the best moment career wise?

David: I will surely say this year because i'm seeing a great future ahead.

Omonaija : What were the projects you have embarked on this year that is giving you such hope ?

David: None. But plans are down already for the year and it will kick off in two weeks time.
I will be shooting my first Igbo movie. The first ever in my life and trust me is going to be a great one because, I have been planning it for the past three months.

Omonaija : Who were those actors (both male and female) that you will like to work with but you have not been able to do so?

David: Patience OZokwo. I have discussed with her already And I will be working with her this year.
Others are Osita Iheme, Zubby Michael my friend since 2011, Chiwetalu agu and many others. Out of 100 supper stars in Nollywood I have worked with like 70 percent, soon I will make it 100 percent by the grace of God.

Omonaija : What advice do you have for other aspiring producers most especially relating to their movie distribution?

David: My advice for up coming producers is that they should not rush into movie making projects so that they won't lose their money.
They should take their time to plan well before going to location and they should also get the people that knows what production is all about to work with, so that they can produce good movie that can pass Dstv mark.
They should not hope on Alaba or CD right only. So that they won't get broke for a long time.

OPEN HEAVENS MONDAY 30TH MAY 2016 TOPIC : ALWAYS ON TIME

Memorise:

Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother
had not died. John 11:21

Read: John 11:21-26

21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

MESSAGE:

Situations in life sometimes portray God as being insensitive to human suffering, sorrow and pain. On this account People tend to blame God by asking questions such as, where was God when the bad act was taking place. Why did God not intervene on time? Our memory verse says,

“Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.”
John 11:21

By this statement, she was implying that the damage had been done, if the Lord had really wanted to help the situation, He would have arrived much earlier. But I have good news for you, God is never late, He is always on time. He is omnipresent; He is not bound by human timing. He knows the end from the beginning, He does not sleep or slumber, He can do all things, and forgetfulness is not part of His nature. David was obviously in the spirit when he penned Psalms 102:13 which says:

“Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time of favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”

When talking about favour, generally, there is a time requirement involved. Some are born into favour from their first day on earth. Some enter into favour in their childhood or teen years. Others encounter favour as adults while some experience it at old age. In the same vein, some experience favour in one or two areas of their lives, while for some, when favour comes, it covers every department of their lives. Whether it comes early or later, or covers one or all areas of life, the coming of favour is characterized by a chain of goodies: bountiful joy, breakthroughs, miracles and blessings. In the scriptures, the time of favour has been termed a time of divine remembrance.

In Genesis 30:22-24, we see the case of Rachel. For many years, her womb was closed. There could be several factors responsible for this ranging from biological to divine. Although, her husband loved her very much, his love could not terminate her childlessness. Meanwhile, her sister Leah had become a baby making factory. The anguish of the barren in the midst of fruitful people can best be imagined. Genesis 30:1 says it got to a point Rachel preferred death to the unending embarrassment she was going through. Have you been in a similar situation where your high school pals are gainfully employed, own cars, and live in their personal houses while you are still combing the streets looking for a job? How do you feel when you all have to attend a meeting and everyone cruises in with their brand new cars except you? You may be compelled to keep away from them in order to avoid embarrassment. Don’t despair! Thank God Rachel’s time of favour came and God remembered her. At last, apart from having two children, Joseph, her firstborn, became an Egyptian Prince – ruling over the world. Do you know your time of favour is coming? It is around the corner. God will remember you and could even make you overtake those who started much earlier than you. It may appear as if God forgot you all these years, but your time of divine remembrance have come. Celebrate Jesus as you step into your time of divine favour in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, let my time of favour come now in Jesus’ name.

Breaking:‎ Pastor Joshua Iginla gave veteran Nollywood actor, Martins Njubuigbo 1million naira for liver operation

Elder Maya (Before and now)

Succor has finally come the way of veteran Nollywood actor, Martins Njubuigbo, popularly known as Elder Maya as his medical bills have been sorted out by popular Abuja pastor, Joshua Iginla.

Reports have it that Elder Maya, who is arguably the longest surviving Nigerian actor, is down with a liver-related problem as the actor is down with a swollen leg and stomach which causes him pain.
But on Sunday May 22, 2016 during the birthday ceremony of the clergy man, one of the colleague of the aged actor told the man of God about Elder Maya's condition and the fact that he needs about #800,000 naira to undergo operation and that some of his colleagues have been soliciting for funds from good Samaritans.

Actor Bruno collecting cheque on his behalf

Upon hearing this, Brother Iginla frowned at the move of his colleagues to beg for fund to save Elder Maya's life. He immediately wrote a cheque of one million naira for the man and also promised to look into his situation ones he gets back on his feet.

The actor, fondly called Papa Labista, who is popular for his village chief priest’s roles in movies, was reportedly diagnosed with liver disease at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos State. This was disclosed by his fellow colleague, actor Ernest Obi, through his Instagram account.
According to him: “Elder Maya is currently down with a liver-related problem.” He also started a campaign aimed at collecting funds for the treatment of the ailing actor but now, his helper of destiny has located him

OPEN HEAVENS THURSDAY 26TH MAY 2016 TOPIC : BEWARE OF PRIDE

Memorise:

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 16:18

Read: 1st Peter 5:5-6

5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

MESSAGE:

Our topic for today is a warning to be very careful of pride. Pride is a giant killer that has turned many great men and women of God to mere casualties. Pride is the first and foremost of the traditional seven deadly sins, perhaps because it is in many ways the root of other sins. Even the “original sin” of Adam and Eve was not mere disobedience, but at the heart of it was pride, quietly lurking in a corner. The fact that Adam and Eve wanted to be like God, reveals a form of hidden pride. Ironically, eating the forbidden fruit led to the opening of their eyes, increasing them in knowledge and wisdom. It turned their attention away from God and they became focused on their outward appearance. They immediately developed the ability, confidence and independence to decide and act on their own without any recourse to God their maker. This is the same fatal foolishness that has plagued the human race ever since.

“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”

Pride has been correctly identified by many as the greatest woe which can quickly destroy anyone captured by it. I usually tell my children that apart from impure thoughts and cravings of the body, another area in which you must exert your victory over the flesh is pride. A proud person is always in contention – fighting with those he thinks he is better than; such a fellow will do everything to show that he is better than others. The proud is always in competition with those who appear better off, just to prove a point that he or she is superior. In doing this, the proud will make derogatory statements about such people and cut them to size just to show that he knows it better or can do it better. The proud finds it difficult to acknowledge the sincere work or effort of others because he thinks such will displace him from being on top. The proud sees himself as being number one in all things. Apart from contending with men, the proud also contends with God. Anyone who is proud or haughty and is speaking so much about God is only a pretender. By reason of their contention with God, they have enthroned themselves as number one in their own lives, making God their running mate. Are you finding it difficult to recognize the efforts of those that are better than you in certain areas? You are simply proud.

Psalms 73:6 says some people are compassed with pride. This implies that it is possible for pride to be visibly glaring in the life of someone that is full of it. You can be clothed in pride just as you can be clothed in humility. You can be clothed in pride just as you can be clothed in humility. You can identify a proud person from his or her looks, carriage, dressing, speech, behaviour, giving, prayer, Christian service, work, attitude, etc. Unfortunately, Isaiah 13:11 says that the same reason which makes the proud fellow haughty is the same reason that will make him fall. Every proud individual is headed for a fall and proud people end up being destroyed (Proverbs 16:18). Some people are proud but they don’t know it. If you exalt yourself by your words and conduct, you shall be abased (Matthew 23:12). James 4:6 speaks of something quite frightening: it says God resists the proud which confirms that God is always contending with the proud, is there pride in your heart? Ask God to forgive and uproot every trace of pride from your life today.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please remove the spirit of pride from my life this moment in Jesus’ name.

"How I was sexually abused, impregnated in Pry 6 by family friend' Nollywood actress Rita Edochie reveals

As the rate of violent and sexual abuse continues to gather momentum in our society, Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie has revealed some shocking details about her life. Speaking today in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria after making an appearance at a seminar to end violence against children, the Nollywood veteran revealed how she was sexually molested at a young age by a family friend who went on to impregnate her.

“I was a victim of sexual abuse, that was when I was in primary six, I was going to the hospital and somebody called me. The boy used some diabolic means and sexually violated me, when I could not see my period, I refused to tell my mother, because she was very strict.

“I love sharing my experience because at the end of the day I succeeded, If I had not succeed, I would not have been able to be saying it.”
She explained that the pregnancy was about seven months before her mother noticed it.
“My mother asked how it happened and I told her everything; my brother picked a knife and wanted to kill me, but my mother stopped him. It happened that the mother of the boy that violated me was my mother’s friend; the boy’s mother was surprised but the boy denied.
“My mother took me to hospital to abort the pregnancy with a plan of taking me to my grandmother’s place at ‘Ogede’ to stay for one week before returning home. I told her I may lose my life in the process and because she loved me, she then aborted the planned abortion; I feel it was God that spoke through me.
Rita Edochie said her mother took care of the baby while she went to school and called on parents to communicate regularly with their children
“Parents should always listen to their children’s complaints on happenings both in and outside the home.’’

"I can't take anything to heaven" - Clergyman gives out 32 cars, millions of naira to needy, others to celebrate birthday

It is written in the Bible that "build your chest in heaven where termites and rodents won't be able to touch it".
