Horrible! Man Murders 14 Members Of His Family With Butchers Knife

In a rather bizzare manner, a 35-year-old man has allegedly murdered 14 members of his family including seven children with a butcher’s knife before committing suicide outside India’s financial capital of Mumbai, police said Sunday.

The attack happened after family members gathered late on Saturday at one of their homes in Thane, some 32 kilometres (20 miles) from Mumbai, for a family function, police said. “The attacker, Hasnin Anwar Warekar, hung himself after slitting the throats of all other family members including his parents,” a Thane police spokesman, Gajanan Laxman Kabdule, told AFP. The sole survivor of the attack, Warekar’s sister, was taken to hospital after neighbours heard her screaming for help after midnight and alerted police. “We still haven’t been able to speak with the attacker’s 21-year-old sister, the lone survivor of the attack, who is in deep trauma at a city hospital,” Kabdule said. Warekar attacked his family after apparently lacing their food with a sedative, according to several local media reports.

But the Indian Express newspaper said the chartered accountant stabbed his victims after they went to bed, having all decided to spend the night at the house. “Prima facie evidence suggests that the accused bolted all the doors of the house and murdered his family while they were asleep with a knife that we found near his body,” Ashutosh Dumbre, joint commissioner of Thane police, was quoted saying.

Kabdule said he could not confirm whether the victims had been sedated, saying investigators were awaiting medical test results. Television footage showed men lifting bodies wrapped in sheets in to the back of an ambulance, as crowds gathered outside the white-wall ed home. Kabdule said details of the attack “are still sketchy” along with the motive.According to the Press Trust of India news agency, a property dispute was behind the killings, but Dumbre said initial investigations have so far found no trigger for such an “extreme step”. “In our inquiry so far, no one has yet been able to give the reason for this,” Dumbre told the ABP news channel. “He worked with a private company in Mumbai. There were no known financial troubles or disputes and now we are hoping that the lone survivor can tell us something about the trigger,” he said.

"Our Dad Accommodated A Pastor, But He Impregnates My Two Sisters" Boy narrates his family ordeal

Policemen from the Oko-Oba division in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area of Lagos State last Sunday February 21st arrested the General Overseer of the Victorious Sacred Solemn Healing and Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Oluwaseyi Idowu, for allegedly impregnating two sisters.

According to The Nation, the pastor was invited to set up his church and manage a flat in the two sisters’ father’s compound when he had accommodation problems in Agege.
He moved in and started having an amorous relationship with the sisters. One of their brothers narrated what happened. He said;
“I and my brothers bought my father a two-storey building in Ogunsola close, Abule-Egba and at that time, Pastor Oluwaseyi had rent issues. My father allowed him to set up his church in his compound and also manage a flat. We never knew that was the beginning of our problems.

The pastor held several vigils to create awareness and public attention. As time went on, he invited people to stay in the church and from the church they moved into the main house. Occupants left the house for the pastor’s people to move in and they lived there without paying a kobo. Months later, the pastor said he wanted to marry my 20-year-old sister, a virgin, who just graduated from secondary school.
We never knew he had been sleeping with her for months before then. Recently, we found out that he also impregnated my 25-year-old sister who has been indoors for the past nine months. I called my elder brother who told me to report the case to the police. It was at the police station we found out that he intended to sell our building to build a new church elsewhere.”.

Breaking News: At Last Supreme Court Okays Rev King To Die By Hanging

After almost seven years of running from judgment, the Supreme Court has okayed the convicted General-Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly, Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, a.k.a Rev. King, to die by hanging. In a unanimous judgment this afternoon, a seven-man panel of Justices ‎of the apex court led by Justice Walter Onnoghen, upheld the death sentence that was earlier handed to Ezeugo by the Lagos state high court. Consequently, the court in its lead verdict that was delivered by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, dismissed the appeal the convicted clergy lodged before it.

Justice Ngwuta who noted that “the ‎facts of the case could have been lifted from horror film”, resolved all the 12 issues Ezeugo raised in his appeal against him. “This appeal has no merit. The judgement of the court of appeal is hereby affirmed. The prison sentence that was earlier handed to the appellant is no longer relevant in view of the death sentence passed on him”, Justice Ngwuta held. It will be recalled that Ezeugo was convicted and sentenced to death by hanging on January 11, 2007, for the alleged murder of his church member, Ann Uzoh.

He was arraigned on September 26, 2006 on a six-count charge of attempted murder and murder. The charge against him was at the instance of the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions. During the trial, the prosecution had argued that the convict poured petrol on the diseased, Uzor and five others. Uzoh died on August 2, 2006, exactly 11 days after the incident. In her judgment, trial Justice Joseph Oyewole who is now a Justice of the Court of Appeal at Calabar, said there was sufficient evidence linking the accused person to the commission of the crime. Consequently, Justice Oyewole convicted and sentenced Ezeugo to 20 years imprisonment for the attempted murder and death by hanging for the offence of murder. Dissatisfied with the judgment, Ezeugo took the case before the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal. The condemned clergy, in his notice of appeal dated January 16, 2007, prayed the appellate court to set aside the judgment. Aside 16 grounds of appeal he raised through his lawyer, Mr.

Olalekan Ojo, he was subsequently granted leave to argue additional 16 grounds based an amended notice of appeal he filed on June 15, 2008. Ojo argued that his client did not commit the crime and was not at the scene of the incident. He insisted that the deceased, Uzoh, had in two statements she made after the incident and before her death, stated that she got burnt in a generator accident and that the cleric was not responsible for her injuries.

Ojo said the Investigating Police Officer, IPO, had tendered statements which stated that Ezeugo was not responsible for the burns that led to Uzoh’s death. He alleged that the trial Judge refused to admit in evidence, the statements he said exonerated Ezeugo of the crime. The lawyer further contended had those “vital exhibits” been admitted rather than expunged by the trial judge, they would have operated to cast serious doubt on the case of the prosecution

. He maintained that Justice Oyewole’s refusal to admit the exhibits in evidence “occasioned a great miscarriage of justice” against his client. Meanwhile, after due consideration of the case, a three-man panel of justices of the appellate court, in a lead judgment that was delivered by Justice Fatimo Akinbami, dismissed Ezeugo’s appeal and upheld the high court verdict. The other members of the appellate court panel that equally concurred with the lower court’s verdict were Justices Amina Augie and Ibrahim Saulawa. Determined to save his life, Rev Ezeugo lodged an appeal before the Supreme Court.

His appeal was challenged by the Lagos state government which through its Attorney General, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem and Director of Public Prosecutions, Mrs. Idowu Alakija, urged the apex court to dismiss it and uphold the concurrent verdicts of the two lower courts.

During his time in prison, Rev. King leaves like a king he calls himself. Many times he has had revivals with his members using the different technological devices that allowed him convene such. but with this latest development, it seems there would be no where to hid for him again.

Naira Grows, Now 250/1$

Good time is gradually coming back to Nigerian economy as the nation’s currency, the naira rose by 50 per cent yesterday against the dollar at the parallel market to N250 from N375, which it traded on Monday.

The naira had been on a free fall in the last two weeks, peaking at 391 against the greenback at the parallel market last Thursday. The local currency, however, began a gradual recovery on Friday.

Investigations revealed that Bureau de Change (BDC) operators as well as street hawkers in Abuja sold the dollar between N250 and N255.

A bureau de change operator, who simply identified himself as Ibrahim, said that he was very confused as the Naira continued to gain strength.

He said: “Earlier this morning, I bought dollars for N305, but now it is sold at N250, making me to lose N55 in less than 10 hours. I am very scared of buying dollars because of the continued instability.

“Although I am happy that the naira continued to gain strength at the parallel market as an overflow of dollars chased the local currency but we are losing greatly here.”

Forex dealers said the local currency was set to gain further momentum in coming days, arguing that most traders were rushing to reduce the amount of dollars in their holdings.

Currency strategist and experts have also stated that the depreciation the naira had recorded in the last two weeks was mainly artificial, arguing that it was part of the activities of currency speculators to force the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Presidency to devalue the naira.

They are of the view that naira will recover because of two things: the Presidency’s hard stance on not devaluing the naira and the decision of the Bureau De Change operators to peg their profit margin at 3.5 per cent.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Saturday again rejected the idea of devaluing the naira, despite a hammering of the currency on the secondary market last week.

The president, who spoke at the presidential panel roundtable on Investment and Growth Opportunities in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, said he rejected pressure to devalue the naira because Nigeria did not have the competitive advantage to benefit from devaluation.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had, contrary to the expectations of the international community and analyst, refused to devalue the local currency, choosing rather to reduce the rate of foreign exchange outflow from the reserves.

An economist and currency expert at BestWorth Holdings, David James, said the naira would continue its rise to a point where the true value of the local currency could be found against the dollar.
